How Pop Warner football plays a pivotal role in youth development from both a parent and coach persp

Coaches and parents are synonymous with one another. Parents always want for what is best for their children. Whether it's related to school, sports, or personal appearance. Genuine good hearted coaches want to see their players succeed both on and off the field or court. In some cases coaches are parents so when they interact or give advice to players it's from a parents perspective. Malcolm Scott who is an assistant football coach for the Berkeley Junior Jackets talked recently talked about how Pop Warner keeps youth off the streets and doing something positive. James Wheeler is a single father who is present at all go his sons football practices and games. Wheeler's son who has the same name as him plays for the Oakland Dynamites.

Scott is a first year assistant coach for the Berkley Junior Jackets and loves to not only teach youth about the game of football but also about the game of life. As we know some parents are more involved in their children lives than others. Since this is a know fact Scott had the following to say during a recent interview "Coach them not post them there's more to parenting than posting them," Scott said. Basically what Scott is saying parents should do more teaching to their children instead of adoring them from a distance and taking pictures of them. Wheeler was asked what he would to see his son do more and this was his response "Be more aggressive don't wait for them people to hit you need to hit them," Wheeler said.

Pop Warner football is always evolving for the better. In March 2018 Pop Warner implemented USA Football American Development model. The purpose of this model is to allow youth be introduced to the sport of football at their own comfortable pace. This model will also help coaches focus on the fundamentals such as tackling which is something that needs to be done correctly to prevent injuries. Injuries are inevitable when it comes to playing sports. On the contrary there are plenty of benefits to playing Pop Warner Football.

According FlipGive there are many benefits for youth who participate in Pop Warner Football. The first benefit is allows youth to maintain good physical health. Health is wealth so without it one cannot do anything. Second benefit is it creates camaraderie which create a harmonious practice environment for all parties involved: coaches, players, and parents. Third benefit is teamwork there is no 'I' in team once players know it takes a collective group effort to win the buy-in will be easy. The fourth benefit is discipline so each player must meticulously pay attention to detail and know their assignment. Once critical mistake be the difference between and win or loss. The sixth and final benefit to playing Pop Warner football is that it teaches youth to have a good work ethic. If players are putting in the necessary work on the field or court to win they will be victorious once the final buzzer sounds rings.

In conclusion, Pop Warner football has a ton of benefits to it. Youth football helps build character, teamwork, camaraderie and work ethic. Coaches get to use football as an analogy to teach life lessons which are needed for young men growing up in today's society. Parents showing support by being at their kids practices and games means a lot and can be the difference in a kid choosing to go down the right or wrong path in life.
