The first logo five logos only contained black print. However, starting in 1950 they decided to incorporate red Into their logo. According to Business Insider the company chose red because of its brightness and it easy to detect. Having a color that is recognizable from long distances is a genius advertising and marketing technique.

Lets skip ahead to the 1980's. During this decade Coca-Cola decided to expand their target market. Diet Coca Cola was introduced to the world. People who were trying to watch their calorie intake could now drink Coca Cola without having to worry about exceeding their daily calorie intake. Again a brilliant idea because this meant more people will drink Coca-Cola which meant money for the company.

In conclusion the Coca Cola brand started off with a basic dull logo that didn't seem like it would be attractive. By the 1950's that all changed when they decided to incorporate the color red into their logo. During the 1980's Diet Coca Cola came out which only helped expand their net worth. The shape of the bottles, cans, and taste hasn't changed much but the logo has which is the first thing people see so that should change often to compete with the likes of sprite and Pepsi just to name a few.
